winemaker's notes:

We shortened the name to Evolution (we also trademarked it) and had fun with the package. The new label picks up similar elements of the old label with a fresh twist. It reflects how Evolution evolves: the same classic blend of 9 white grapes, each pressed separately, adding its own character.

At the same time, every new bottling has its own subtle and fresh personality; this edition is slightly less sweet than the last. The 9 grapes tie together perfectly, creating a smooth, layered white wine that can hold its own or stand up to just about any food pairing you dare to serve it with. It is extraordinarily food-friendly, from light salads to the hottest fusion-style cuisine.

Regarding the question we're most often asked: "Were you trying to do this or did your leftovers happen to work well together?" We'll let the success of Evolution speak for itself.

  Very nice wine. - 2/23/2008
I would buy this wine again

My wine is delivered to work and one of my co-workers always asks to buy a bottle or two of my shipment. It's good and I buy it regularly.

  Fantastic Taste!!!! - 11/22/2007
I would buy this wine again

We went out and bought a bunch of wine. We had someone give us this EVOLUTION and loved it over the rest. We usually drink California wines but are trying to support and enjoy the local tastes. Loved it and will buy it again.

  delicious! - 11/6/2007
I would buy this wine again

finally opened my bottle of Evolution last night and I'm not sure which makes me sadder...waiting this long to do it or finishing the bottle! great, smooth wine. not overly sweet or dry, just the right combination that creates an interesting, different taste. we had udon with mushrooms and tofu last night and it paired wonderfully. I'll need to order more of this wine and make it my "house white". more interesting than a standard Riesling or Chardonnay.

Was I drinking a different wine than the one from the winemaker's notes? :-) I did not find anything dry about Evolution No 9 - start, mid or finish. It lean's rather toward the sweet end somewhat like a late harvest riesling, but very nice taste in that context. I was just expecting a slightly drier white from the label. Enjoy it with cheese or dessert even.

Very enjoyable flavor. No harsh after bite. Had a very smooth texture and easily pallatable with a variety of different foods.

I have been buying this wine for 2 years now, I think it is wonderful ! It does have a taste all of it's own.

A Customer - Colorado
This is an excellent wine! I find it has just the right amount of sweetness, as I don't like wine that is too dry. I also like the fact that this is "different". It definitely has a unique taste. I first learned about this wine from a review, thought I'd give it a try. Wow! This ones a keeper. I will continue to buy this wine as long as Sokol Blosser continues to make. Added bonus...it's an Oregon wine, which this transplanted Oregonian considers to be way cool.

jsieker@siekertech.com - Los Angeles CA
I like this wine because it tastes good. Not sweet like Zinfendel and it doesn't have the rotten egg (sulphury) smell that Chardonay's tend to have. It's a wine that I can serve to my freinds with the confidence that it will be liked, or I can give it as a gift. It's a wine I know I'll enjoy. I found it and bought it on a whim and that moment of fancy has paid off big in enjoyment!

I first experienced this wonderful wine at a gourmet Southwestern restaurant quite by accident. Their drink specialty involved tequilas, but I dislike that liquor. They gave me samples of a couple of wines and I LOVED this one...so much so that I ordered a bottle and I request it whenever it is available wherever I dine. Sadly, it is not available for purchase in New Hampshire. I will certainly have to order it.

What a great wine! I always keep a case on hand. Try it with some Spicy Italian Sausage on the Grill; the marriage of flavors is incredible!! If you like this try Bonny Doon Pacific Rim Reisling! You won't be disappointed!! pb NYC

A Customer - Cape Cod, MA
I had the pleasure of experiencing this wine last night at a Wine and Chocolate tasting. I have not tasted a wine as smooth as this in a long time. I highly recommend it!

grapegoddess@home.com - Vancouver, WA
YUM!!! TANGY!!! I'll never be able to drink chardonnay or Muleer-Thurgau again! I'm ruined and hopelessly addicted!

A Customer - Miami, Florida
Found Evolution wine during a business dinner trip in San Diego and have been a fan ever since.

jroblesrdh@gmail.com - nyc then and so cal now
I first tried this wine in a pan asian restaurant in soho ny. My friends and I thought it was amazing. I found it out here in southern california and my husband and I have a few bottles in stock for any meal. It goes with anything and its just the right amount of sweetness. Anyone who comes over and tries it loves this reisling too. If you love this reisling then you should try Laurel Lakes Reisling from Long Island, New York.

schecky@goodoo.net - Texarkana
This wine flipped me out! It is totally freaking great.

A Customer - Keizer, OR
This wine was VERY WELL received at our first-ever wine tasting social! We voted on 6 different wines and Evolution was clearly one of the favorites. I'll be purchasing this in the future. Not only will it complement many different dishes, but the label has "try me-I'm fun" written all over it!!!

A Customer - Everett, WA
I have just recently trained my palate to recognize many of the wonderful tastes that white wines have to offer. And I have to say that this white, in particular, has won me over. It has a very simple, yet bold taste. I find myself comparing it to every white I have sampled, so far. And it has to be said, Evolution has won every comparison. Simply delectable and quite refreshing!

A Customer - Beaverton, OR
I visited the Sokol Blosser winery about 3 years ago and this was one I tasted that day. Delicious! I bought a bottle on the spot and ever since, I look for it in the store; I have never been disappointed. Who would have thought a blend of so many grapes could taste so exquisite. I highly recommend this wine - an especially good wine for summer sipping.

raff@nidlink.com - Idaho
This is a STUNNING wine...try it with a picnic on the lake during a beautiful sunset! Wow and more.

A Customer - Iowa
This wine is very choosy and we fancied it very well. It is not sneaky and has well-balanced fruits and acidity. Slightly puckery with just enough sweetness and crispness in the finish. Goes well with fruit, cheese and/or guacamole!

A Customer - Delaware
Was looking for a glass of Reisling last week at dinner, but as usual, this restaurant did not have any by the glass. I told the waiter I wanted something fruity, but not too sweet. He suggested this and said he would bring me a small glass to taste. Well he ended up bringing a full glass and I was glad, since I love this wine. Went to the wine store last night and after much search found it! Can't wait to have another glass and share with some frineds.

A Customer - san diego
Had this at a restaurant and loved it. Finally found it in 1 store in SD. Buy it now all the time. Just a right blend of sweet and dry to set the mood for a great evening. Thanks

dimglimmering@excite.com - Iowa
This is a great drinker - not very complex, but a perfect wine to pull out, set on the table, and crack into with a group of friends on a warm spring afternoon. Very fruity and not overly sweet, crisp, refreshing... a thirst quencher.

A Kosher wine begins like every other - as grapes on a vine. Once they reach the winery for crushing, the wine is under strict rabbinal supervision.

Many studies report and winemakers agree that screw caps protect wine better and preserve its flavor more effectively than cork. More importantly, screw caps eliminate cork taint caused by TCA, a compound which develops in a small percentage of corks and ruins the taste of wine.
