GoLite Carbon Fyre Trail Running Shoe - Men's

GoLite gave the Men's Carbon Fyre Trail Running Shoe a ridiculously aggressive sole to ensure top-notch traction no matter what type of terrain the trail throws your way. A deep, steep arch slot creates a solid breaking edge to grab the ground and keep you on your feet during loose descents. GoLite's Innerlock lacing system secures your foot in place while eliminating pressure points. The Carbon Fyre Trail Running Shoes include carbon cradle plates to increase stability for long-distance runs.

Bottom Line: Good luck finding a more aggressive pair of shoes.

I have had several models of the Golite. Got these in Feb. of 08. Initially, seemed pretty good walking and jogging around the town. Decided to use them for my primary approach and tramping shoe in NZ this past March. Mistake. Okay on mild tracks but after a week the treads started to de-laminate but still serviceable. Then on a long approach for a peak climb they were too tippy on no slope talus and rubble, say compared to what I usually would wear....a montrail or vasque. I relegated them to my pack, to pad my coffee press, for the hike out in alpine boots.

Descent Shoes

Okay so I've tried a lot of different trail running shoes which basically means I've had problems with all that I've tried and moved on from. First the positives: The are extremely stable shoes. They're very light and GoLite's suspension idea rocks.....in a big way! The lacing system is something I really like. Pretty much everything about the upper and inner portion of the shoe was a big plus for me. The only negative: I went through 4 pair of these shoes in 6 weeks! The soles fell apart on the toe of the first pair. The other three, from the ball of the foot forward, just completely fell apart. Maybe this is a case of a little too much Lite and not enough Go. Maybe I'm a freak......for sure!, but the bonus is BackCountry took care of me well on every pair. Onto the next shoe!
